The Hamburg Model United Nations (HamMUN) uses the resources, tools and technical platform provided by Facebook Ireland Tld., 4 Grand Canal Square Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland for the following Information Service. Please note that the usage of the Facebook Page and its functions by users takes place at own risk, with users assuming full responsibility for this usage. This applies to (but is not limited to) the usage of interactive functions of the platform (such as Commenting, Sharing Content and Rating). When visiting our Facebook Page, the Page collects amongst others your IP-Address and other data in the form of cookies which are saved on your personal computer. This data is used to provide us as the operator of the Facebook page with statistical information regarding the usage of the Facebook Page. The data that has been collected in are processed by Facebook Ltd. and, if necessary, might be transferred to countries outside of the European Union. The scope in which Facebook uses the data collected by users accessing our Facebook page for their own purposes, under which scope each activity can be traced back to individual users, how long data is collected and stored and if collected data from users visiting the Facebook page is transferred to third parties is not fully explained by Facebook themselves and hence, not clear in its scope, hence we also have no knowledge regarding this matter.
When accessing a Facebook page, the IP address corresponding to the terminal device will be transferred to Facebook. According to Facebook, this IP address is anonymised (with German IP addresses). Facebook also saves data regarding the terminal devices of users (in the context of the confirmation of registration); hereby it is possible for Facebook to match IP Addresses to individual users.
If you are currently registered as a user on Facebook, there is a Cookie with your Facebook Username on your end device. With this, Facebook can track which pages you have visited recently and/or used. This applies also for other Facebook Pages you might have accessed. Over the Facebook Media Buttons present on websites, Facebook can track your website visit and match it with your profile. With this data, content and advertisement can be customized to your preferences.
If you want to prevent this you can opt out of this: by deactivating the “stay logged in” function, by deleting the cookies on your device, shutting down your browser and restarting your browser, hereby you can delete all the data which can be used to track you. With this, you can use the Facebook page without your Facebook Identification being divulged. If you want to use interactive functions of the Facebook page (such as liking, commenting, sharing, messaging services, etc…) a login banner will appear. If you log in using this banner, you will be identified as a specific user.
